ADDIS ABABA: November 19 (EI) — Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen bilateral defence and military cooperation.
The MoU was signed on Tuesday in Dubai, UAE on the sidelines of the ongoing 16th Dubai Airshow, the Emirates News Agency reported.
The agreement was inked between Ethiopia’s Defence Minister Lemma Megersa and the UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi,
Signing the MoU, Ethiopia’s Lemma affirmed his country’s “keen interest to advance Emirati-Ethiopian defence cooperation in order to serve mutual interests,” according to the report.
“The MoU underscores the UAE’s commitment to consolidating partnerships and cooperation with its international partners,” the report quoted the UAE Defence Minister as saying after signing the agreement.
