ADDIS ABABA (EI) — Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s leading carrier, announced on Monday that it has canceled flights to ten Middle East destinations due to the current security situation in the region.
The Ethiopian flag carrier announced in an update that the cancellation of its flights to six more Middle East destinations, citing airspace closure in multiple countries in the region amid growing security concerns.
The airline announced that so far, it has canceled its flights to Amman in Jordan, Tel Aviv in Israel, Beirut in Lebanon, Dammam in Saudi Arabia, Qatar’s Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, as well as Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
“To avoid further inconvenience, passengers traveling to-or-from the region are strongly encouraged to check their flight status through our official digital channels,” the airline said.
The airline said it will continue to closely monitor the situation, and will take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and convenience of its passengers and crew.
