ADDIS ABABA (EI): The Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration disclosed on Wednesday that the country has generated in excess of 3.84 billion U.S. dollars in revenue from merchandise exports during the past seven months.
Kassahun Gofe, Ethiopia’s Minister of Trade and Regional Integration, said in an update that during the first seven months of the current Ethiopian 2024/2025 fiscal year, more than 3.84 billion U.S. dollars revenue in merchandise exports have been achieved.
He said the performance represents 146 percent of the initial target, as gold, coffee, oilseeds, electricity and livestock exports are the export products that have achieved more than 100 percent of their set target.
“This is an increase of 1.94 billion U.S. dollars or 101.2 percent compared to the 1.9 billion U.S. dollars achieved in the same period of last year,” the minister said.
He said strict support and monitoring will be provided to further strengthen the implementation.
