ADDIS ABABA (EI): The Ethiopian government announced on Monday that more than 17,400 former armed combatants have been successfully reintegrated into civilian life after completing rehabilitation training.
The National Rehabilitation Commission (NRC) reported that the reintegration process is progressing steadily in conflict-affected regions, including Tigray, Amhara, Afar, and Oromia.
NRC Commissioner Temesgen Tilahun emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships between regional authorities, the federal government, and international partners to ensure sustainable peace.
This effort is part of broader initiatives to address armed conflicts in Ethiopia, including the implementation of the 2022 peace agreement between the federal government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF).
