ADDIS ABABA (EI): Total Energies Marketing Ethiopia has inaugurated Ethiopia’s first-ever fast Electric Vehicle (EV) charging public station in Addis Ababa.
Ethiopia’s first-ever fast EV charging public station, located in the capital Addis Ababa’s Bole area, is said to promote electric mobility facilities towards addressing the fast-expanding EVs in the Ethiopian capital.
Christophe Ferrand, Managing Director of Total Energies Marketing Ethiopia, said during the occasion that the development of FV fast charging stations has “momentous contribution” to climate change effects.
“As a customer centric company, we have finalized this new solution to contribute to the decarbonization of transportation together with our partners. Hence, we strive to stay in our position and committed on delivering energy that is more affordable, more reliable, cleaner and accessible to as many people as possible,” Total Energies Marketing Ethiopia statement quoted Ferrand as saying.
Noting the growing demand for supporting new types of mobility is growing on the continent, Total Energies reiterated its commitment to invest on the latest technologies and equipment so as to ensure safe and environmental-friendly operations protecting customers, stakeholders and the community.
The station was inaugurated in the presence of senior Ethiopian government and Total Energies regional officials, it was noted.
