ADDIS ABABA: Ethiopia earned over 4.12 billion USD in export revenue during the recently concluded Ethiopian fiscal year – 2021/ 2022, government announced Friday.
The Ethiopian Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration on Friday disclosed that the country had an initial target of generating 4.63 billion USD from the export sector.
The reported 4.12 billion USD is said to have 13.81 percent increase as compared with the previous fiscal year, when the country generated 3.62 billions USD from the export sector.
The ministry said the agriculture sector contributed the lion’s share of the annual export earning, contributing 72 percent of the total export earnings.
The mining, industry and electric energy sectors contributed the remaining shares of the annual export revenue – at 14 percent, 12 percent and 2 percent, respectively.
