ADDIS ABABA, June 24 (EI) — Ethiopian Ministry of Health on Wednesday reported 186 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of positive cases in the country to 5,034.
From the total of 4,034 laboratory tests conducted within the last 24 hours, 186 of them were confirmed positive for COVID-19, eventually bringing the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Ethiopia to 352, the Ethiopian Ministry of Health disclosed on Wednesday.
The ministry also disclosed that 1,486 patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 have so far recovered from the virus.
Some 78 patients have so far died due to COVID-19 related illnesses, according to the ministry.
The Ethiopian Ministry of Health, in partnership with the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), has so far conducted 227,375 COVID-19 laboratory tests on individuals with possible signs of COVID-19 as well as direct contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients, it was noted.
Ethiopia confirmed its first case of COVID-19 on March 13.
