Djibouti sees 713 COVID-19 recoveries as total confirmed cases reach 1,116

ADDIS ABABA, May 4 (EI) — Djibouti’s Ministry of Health on Monday announced that about 713 COVID-19 patients have recovered so far amid the growing rate of COVID-19 recoveries in the Horn of Africa country.

The Djiboutian Ministry of Health, in a statement issued on Monday, disclosed that a growing number of people are recovering from the COVID-19 virus, in which some 713 of the total 1,116 COVID-19 patients have recovered from the virus as of Monday.

According to the ministry, out of the total 713 people who have recovered from the infectious virus as of the stated period, some 27 of the patients recovered during the past 24-hours.

Amid the growing number of patients recovering from COVID-19, the Red Sea nation has also witnessed a reduction in the rate of new COVID-19 positive cases.

The Djibouti Ministry of Health on Monday disclosed that from a total of 366 people who were tested for COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, 4 of them were tested positive for the virus, which eventually brings the total number of COVID-19 positive cases to 1,116.

On Saturday, the ministry had also reported that some 14 COVID-19 patients had recovered from the virus. The ministry had also on Saturday disclosed that 15 were tested positive for the virus from the total of 105 people who were tested.

Djibouti, which reported its first COVID-19 case on March 18, has so far conducted a total of about 14,222 COVID-19 tests, according to the Djibouti Ministry of Health, which has reported two COVID-19 deaths so far.
