ADDIS ABEBA: December 14 (EI) – Ethiopian Youth Federation on Friday honored Indonesia’s top diplomat in Addis Ababa to his contribution in solving issues pertinent to the Ethiopian youth since he arrived in East African country back in March 2019.
Ethiopia’s youth federation has provided its highest certificate and iconic traditional Ethiopian costumes to acknowledge Al Busyra Bansur, IndonesianAmbassador to Ethiopia, the African Union Commission (AUC) and Djibouti, for his “consistent effort in various part of the country to induce the youngest generation.”
The ambassador received the award in a ceremony that was held inside the premises of the embassy on the margins of Ethio-Indonesia Youth Forum, which also brought together Ethiopian government officials drawn from the ministries of foreign affairs, culture and youth federations.
According to the Secretary of the Ethiopian Youth Federation, Ermias Matiwos, when minor issues and conflicts erupted in Ethiopia recently, the federation has noticed that such incidents had irritated the diplomatic community, and in some cases they were forced to send “inappropriate messages to the outside world without sufficient information.
Ermias stressed that the Indonesian Ambassador, working in partnership with the Ethiopian youth, “has been playing a crucial role in disseminating motivational speeches and providing lectures to students enrolled in Hawassa and Wollo universities as well as youths in the capital Addis Ababa.”
“It is just the beginning, and if we really exert our effort with our 8.5 million youth federation members throughout the country, various embassies will help us,” Ermias said, as he emphasized the need to work in partnership with the diplomatic community in addressing issues pertinent to the Ethiopian youth.
The ambassador, after receiving the award, also underscored the crucial importance of investing in the young generation to build stronger and resilient nation.
